Terms & Conditions

General Terms & Conditions for Alchemy Classes, Courses & Workshops

  1. Whilst care and guidance will be given at all times, in attending the Alchemy Dance Academy, you consider yourself physically able to participate in dance activities and therefore accept liability for any physical injury which may occur to yourself.

  2. Places on all courses/workshops are limited.

  3. Places on courses/workshops are allocated on a 1st come 1st served basis. The exception to this is for beginners and partnerwork courses/workshops. If we have more bookings from either women/follower or men/leaders, we will create a waiting list for the role with the higher number of bookings to allow the ratio to balance. This can be avoided if a couple (e.g. man & woman) book together.

  4. Couple discounts applies to a man & woman or 'leader' & 'follower' booking together. The discount does not apply to two people learning to dance in the same role. Please note you can only progress to the next class level in the role you have learnt in beginners. 

  5. Places on courses/workshops can only be guaranteed when booked in advance. Admission on the day is subject to availability.

  6. Course/workshop fees are non-refundable unless we (Alchemy Dance Company) cancel the workshop.

  7. Courses are non-transferable once the course has started. Places are transferable prior to the course starting at the discretion of Alchemy Dance Academy.

  8. There are no discounts or refund of fees if you miss any classes in your course.

  9. Alchemy Dance Academy reserve the right to cancel a course/workshop at any time with full refund.

  10. Alchemy Dance Academy reserves the right to refuse admission (to the Academy and any events organised by Alchemy Dance Company, also includes the right to refuse private tuition.

  11. Filming &/or photography at the academy is strictly forbidden without the permission of Alchemy Dance Academy.

  12. Alchemy Dance Academy classes, courses & workshops are catered for adults only (age 18+)

ALCHEMY ONLINE CLASSES

  1. Whilst care and guidance will be given at all times, in participating in Alchemy Online pre-recorded classes, tutorials, and Live streamed classes, you consider yourself physically able to participate in dance activities and therefore accept liability for any physical injury which may occur to yourself.

  2. Downloading, sharing on social media or other platform, republishing, redistribution of any Alchemy Online material is strictly prohibited.

  3. Our Live streamed class schedule, topic and frequency is subject to change.

  4. Alchemy online classes, courses & workshops are catered for adults only (age 18+).

  5. Subscriptions are non-transferable.

  6. Monthly subscription payments are made by Paypal.

  7. Each payment covers subscription to the Alchemy Online service for one calendar month from payment

  8. Once your payment has been made for the month, no refunds will be issued for that month, unless we (Alchemy Dance Company) cease our online service.

  9. There is no minimum contract term. You can cancel at any time. 

  10. If you cancel, your subscription will remain active until the end of the calendar month from your last payment.

  11. There are no discounts or refund of fees if you do not log in to online classes.

  12. In signing up to any Alchemy Online product you agree to subscribe to the monthly Alchemy newsletter email. You can unsubscribe at any time. Please see our Privacy Policy for further information.

  13. If we (Alchemy Dance Company) cease our online service, you will be entitled to a prorata refund of the remainder of the calendar month from the date of your last payment.

  14. We/Alchemy Dance Company reserve the right to refuse or cancel a subscription at any time.

  15. We/Alchemy Dance Company reserve the right to change the terms & conditions of Alchemy Membership. Please check our Terms & Conditions page on our website regularly for changes.

From a health & safety point of view students should;

  1. have enough space to participate in the activity without there being any obvious risk of injury to themselves, others, or risk of any damage to surrounding property.

  2. ensure that the flooring in the room is safe for the activity to be undertaken. 

 

ALCHEMY MEMBERSHIP

  1. Payment is by Direct Debit only via GoCardless.

  2. Your payments are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

  3. Your membership will commence when your Direct Debit mandate has been processed, which usually takes 3 working days. Your membership will then run monthly from that date.

  4. There is no minimum contract term. You can cancel at any time. 

  5. Cancellation - 7 working days notice is required in writing (by email) before your monthly payment. If you cancel after this point, your membership will be cancelled from the end of the following month.

  6. The membership scheme is to benefit people who regularly support Alchemy classes. If you cancel your membership, there will be a 6 month period before you can rejoin the scheme. During this period, the usual drop-in class fees will apply when you attend class.

  7. Membership fees take into consideration closure dates throughout the year. This includes, but is not restricted to, our 4 week closure over the Christmas period & the first Thursday in May when Oakridge Hall is used as a polling station annually. There are therefore no refunds or reduced monthly payments for closures.

  8. There are no refunds if you miss classes due to work/holiday/other commitments.

  9. You cannot pause your membership for reasons of work/holiday/other commitments.

  10. Membership can be paused for reasons of illness or injury on submission of a doctor's certificate. This is applicable from the next full month i.e. from your notification we will pause your membership from the start of the following month.

  11. If you wish to attend more classes than your membership package entitlement, the regular drop-in class fees apply.

  12. You can change your membership package at anytime, just let us know by email 7 working days before your payment date so we can change your plan before the next direct debit payment.

  13. You will still be required to check-in at the front desk. On particularly busy nights, we will endeavour to fast-track members.

  14. Membership is non-transferable. 

  15. We/Alchemy Dance Company reserve the right to refuse or cancel membership.

  16. We/Alchemy Dance Company reserve the right to change the terms & conditions of Alchemy Membership. Please check our Terms & Conditions page on our website regularly for changes.

BEGINNERS END OF YEAR SPECIAL 2023

  1. This special offer is available for participants of the Beginners course that commenced October 2023.

  2. In taking up this offer you will be entering into Alchemy Membership for which the full terms of membership apply (see above).

  3. The classes included in the first payment of £15 are on Tuesdays 28th November, 5th and 12th December 2023. These classes are non-transferable.

  4. Regular monthly payments of £30 will commence from 1st January 2024 and are taken by Direct Debit.

  5. You will have full access to Alchemy Online for one month from the commencement of your membership. If you wish to continue to have access to Alchemy Online at the end of the month, please email us.

  6. This offer expires 15th December 2023.

ALCHEMY BOOTCAMP WEEKENDS

  1. Places on each bootcamp are limited and are allocated on a 1st come 1st served basis.

  2. Places can only be booked in advance. 

  3. Places are non-transferable.

  4. If you are booking with a deposit, full payment of remaining balance is due no later than 2 months before the bootcamp. 

  5. Your place may be forfeited if full payment is not received 2 months before the bootcamp commences.

  6. We cannot accept extra bookings, and will return payment to those who book after all places have been allocated.

  7. Alchemy Dance Company reserves the right to refuse admission to the bootcamps.

  8. For application/invitation only bootcamps, bookings will only be accepted by those given permission by Alchemy Dance Company. Any bookings sent without permission will be returned.

  10. Filming &/or photography on the bootcamps is strictly forbidden without the permission of Alchemy Dance Company.

  11. Whilst we make every effort to keep the ratio of men:women equal, this is not guaranteed.

  12. Alchemy Bootcamp Weekends are catered for adults only (age 18+).

  13. We/Alchemy Dance Company reserve the right to change the terms & conditions of Alchemy Bootcamps. Please check the Terms & Conditions page on our website regularly for changes.

 

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Deposit/admin fee of £50 per person is NON-REFUNDABLE

  • If we cancel the event, you will receive a full refund.

  • If you cancel your booking for the event the following applies: 

Up to 2 months prior to the event commencement date: Full refund less £50 admin fee per person

From 2 months prior to the event commencement date: 50% refund of full amount

From 1 month before the event commencement date: No refund

  • For Paypal payments, the Paypal fee of 2.9% is non-refundable after 60 days from the date of purchase
