1. General Terms & Conditions – Classes, Courses & Workshops

 

1.1 Whilst care and guidance will be given at all times, by attending Alchemy Dance Academy you confirm that you are physically able to participate in dance activities and accept responsibility for any injury that may occur to yourself.

1.2 Respect, Conduct and Safeguarding

By enrolling in or attending any Alchemy Dance Company class, course, workshop or event, you agree to behave in a manner that supports a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all participants and staff. Alchemy Dance Company upholds a clear framework of professional boundaries and respect, as outlined in our Safeguarding statement and Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to address any behaviour that breaches these principles, which may include verbal warnings, suspension or withdrawal from classes or events without refund.

1.3 Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

1.4 For beginners or partnerwork courses, places are balanced by leader/follower ratio. If one role is oversubscribed, a waiting list will operate. Booking as a couple (leader and follower) avoids delay.

1.5 Couple discounts apply only to one leader and one follower booking together. They do not apply to two people learning in the same role.

1.6 Progression to higher levels is only possible in the role learned at beginner level.

1.7 Advance booking is strongly advised. Admission on the day is subject to availability.

1.8 Fees are non-refundable unless the workshop or course is cancelled by Alchemy Dance Company.

1.9 Courses are non-transferable once started. Before commencement, transfers may be permitted at the discretion of Alchemy Dance Academy.

1.10 No refunds or fee reductions will be made for missed classes.

1.11 Alchemy Dance Academy reserves the right to cancel a course/workshop at any time with a full refund.

1.12 We reserve the right to refuse admission to classes, courses, events or private tuition.

1.13 Filming or photography is not permitted without prior permission.

1.14 All classes, courses and workshops are for adults aged 18 and over.

2. Special Workshops & Events (e.g. 20th Anniversary Workshop/Social)

 

2.1 The general terms above apply in full.

2.2 No refunds are issued once a workshop or social place has been purchased.

2.3 You may transfer your place to another person you know, with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice before the workshop begins.

2.4 If you transfer both workshop and social places but still wish to attend the social, the standard on-the-door price will apply.

3. Alchemy Online Classes

 

3.1 Participation in Alchemy Online pre-recorded and live-streamed classes is at your own risk. You confirm you are physically able to participate and accept responsibility for your own safety.

3.2 Downloading, sharing, republishing, or redistributing any Alchemy Online material is strictly prohibited.

3.3 Class schedules, topics and frequency are subject to change.

3.4 Online content is for adults aged 18 and over.

3.5 Subscriptions are non-transferable and billed monthly via your chosen method.

3.6 Once a monthly payment is made, no refund will be issued for that month unless Alchemy Dance Company ceases the online service.

3.7 You may cancel your subscription at any time; access will remain active until the end of the paid calendar month.

3.8 No refunds or discounts apply for missed or unused access.

3.9 On signup you will automatically receive our monthly newsletter; you can unsubscribe at any time (see Privacy Policy).

3.10 If we discontinue the service, you will receive a pro-rata refund for the remainder of your paid period.

3.11 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a subscription at any time.

Health & Safety (Online Participation)

3.13 Before joining an online class, please ensure:

(a) You have sufficient clear space to move safely.

(b) Your floor surface is appropriate and free from hazards.

(c) You are aware of your own physical limits and stop if discomfort occurs.

 

4. Alchemy Membership

 

4.1 Payment is by Direct Debit via GoCardless and protected under the Direct Debit Guarantee.

4.2 Membership begins from the date of application and provides immediate access to your membership benefits. Direct Debit mandates are normally processed within three (3) working days, so your first payment date may fall a few days after your membership start date. Subsequent payments will continue monthly from that payment date, unless you make changes to your membership package, in which case we will endeavour to align your payment date with your renewal date.

4.3 There is no minimum contract; you may cancel at any time.

 

Cancellation

4.4 Seven (7) working days’ written notice (by email) is required before your next payment date.

4.5 If notice is received after this period, cancellation will take effect from the end of the following month.

4.6 After cancelling, a four-month gap must pass before rejoining the membership scheme.

 

Membership Conditions

4.7 Monthly fees take into account scheduled closures throughout the year, including our Christmas break and annual polling-day closure at Oakridge Hall.

4.8 No refunds or reductions are made for these closures or for missed classes due to work, holidays, or other commitments.

4.9 Memberships cannot be paused except for medical reasons, supported by a doctor’s note, effective from the start of the next full month.

4.10 You may upgrade or downgrade your package by email with seven (7) working days’ notice before your next payment.

4.11 Membership remains non-transferable.

4.12 You must still check in at the front desk when attending.

4.13 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel membership at any time.

5. Alchemy Bootcamp Weekends

 

5.1 Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

5.2 Advance booking is required.

5.3 Places are non-transferable.

5.4 Where deposits are taken, the remaining balance must be paid no later than two (2) months before the event. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of your place.

5.5 We cannot accept extra bookings once capacity is reached.

5.6 Admission may be refused at the organiser’s discretion.

5.7 Invitation-only bootcamps accept bookings only from those approved by Alchemy Dance Company.

5.8 Attendance is at your own risk; you confirm you are physically able to participate.

5.9 Photography or filming without permission is not permitted.

5.10 While we aim for balanced leader/follower ratios, this cannot be guaranteed.

5.11 Bootcamps are for adults aged 18 and over.

 

Cancellation & Refund Policy

5.13 A £50 per-person deposit (admin fee) is non-refundable.

5.14 If Alchemy Dance Company cancels the event, a full refund will be issued.

5.15 If you cancel:

(a) Up to 2 months before the event: full refund less £50 admin fee per person.

(b) From 2 months before: 50% refund.

(c) From 1 month before: no refund.

5.16 For PayPal payments, any transaction fee retained by PayPal under their current refund policy is non-refundable after 60 days from the date of purchase.

6. Updates to Terms

 

6.1 Alchemy Dance Company reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.

6.2 Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued participation implies acceptance of the revised terms.
